A Poem by Sir Mohammad Iqbal (Allama Iqbal)
O Cherisher! The Muslim's heart, a vigorous desire, grant,
That which warms the heart, restless makes the soul, grant,
Brightens the valley of Makkah, afresh every particle, grant,
Once more, passions for disposition, a taste of urgency, grant,
Deprived of fervour, tiring eye with discerning sight, grant,
That which I've observed, others behold too, grant,
Strayed sigh's of oppression, direct anew to Makkah, grant,
Habituated in this city he, the expanse of the desert, grant,
Emanate the abandoned heart, commotions of resurrection, grant,
This empty saddle, witnesses more performance, grant,
In the ignorance of this age, every troubled heart, grant,
That stigma of love grant, embarrasses the moon, grant,
In elevation the ambitions, make peers of Pleiades, grant,
A self-restraining shore grant, independence of the ocean, grant,
Unselfish may love be, bold honesty the same, grant,
Enlighten the inner hearts, like a starling the heart shapes, grant,
Sensitivity bestow, to symptoms of affliction, grant,
In disorders of today, suspicion of prevarication, grant,
I am a lamenting nightingale, of a ruined rose garden,
I'm a Seeker of effect, a Saint for the indigent, grant.
Few Qoutes by Sir Mohammad Iqbal (Allama Iqbal)
"I have seen the movement of the sinews of the sky,
And the blood coursing in the veins of the moon."
Mysteries Of Selflessness
"Since love first made the breast an instrument
Of fierce lamenting, by its flame my heart
Was molten to a mirror, like a rose
I pluck my breast apart, that I may hang
This mirror in your sight
Gaze you therein."
"I am but as the spark that gleams for a moment,
His burning candle consumed me - the moth;
His wine overwhelmed my goblet,
The master of Rum transmuted my earth to gold
And set my ashes aflame."
Presidential Address At The All India Muslim League Session At Allahbad In 1930
" I, therefore, demand the formation of a consolidated Muslim State in
the best interest of India and Islam."
"But only a brief moment
is granted to the brave
one breath or two, whose wage is
The long nights of the grave."
